How to use this tool
  1. Click the box (or drag files onto it) and pick one or more JPG, PNG, or WebP images.
  2. Choose an output format — JPEG or WebP give the smallest files; PNG keeps it lossless but larger.
  3. Drag the Quality slider — lower numbers mean smaller files but slightly lower quality. 75% is a good starting point.
  4. Optional: pick a max width to also shrink the image's dimensions, not just its file size.
  5. Click "Compress" — see the before/after size for each image, then download them one at a time or all together.

Will compressing reduce quality?Some quality loss is normal with JPEG/WebP compression, but the quality slider lets you balance file size against visual quality — 75-85% is usually indistinguishable from the original at normal viewing sizes.

What's the difference between JPEG, WebP, and PNG?JPEG and WebP suit photos best (smaller files, some quality loss); WebP generally compresses smaller than JPEG at the same quality. PNG is lossless — better for screenshots or sharp-edged graphics, but larger.

Is there a batch mode?Yes — drop multiple images at once and compress them all in the same session.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?No — compression happens entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Nothing is sent to a server.
